School of Ministry (England)
The evenings are always filled with a buzz of excitement and awe. The shuffling of feet, the rustling of papers, the general hum of the students as they make their way to their seats, discussing assignments, and debating the previous weeks theological challenges. The atmosphere is electric and charged with a hunger for God. The students come expecting to be challenged in the faith, strengthened in their walk with Christ, and stretched in their individual ministries.
Eleos School of Ministry and Practical Theology enrolls over twenty students each year. The curriculum consists mostly of intensive Bible and theological studies resulting in the equipping of the church with its future leadership in the areas of pastors, teachers, missionaries and lay workers.
Classes are conducted once a week with heavy emphasis on external study and research. In addition to the weekly classes, there are the periodic Saturday Seminar Series; these are a series of seminars, which are open to the public. The topics have included Ministry to the Poor; Understanding Church History; Counseling to the Bereaved.
The topics are mostly theological in nature with the view of practical application. Every student is involved in some form of Christian service and outreach. Eleos School of Ministry and Practical Theology supports the needed balance between information obtained and outworking maintained.
Our vision for the future is to see the students reach their fulfillment in Christ. We believe that the future of the church rests in the raising up of leaders within the church and continuing to make disciples, who will go forth and make disciples. It is also our goal to see our students go out and support other ministries around the world in areas of teaching and discipleship. We also would like to see more schools established like this one in other cities and nations.
