"Whoever has the world's goods, and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?"  (1 John 3:17)

'Hands of Mercy' Topics

The following is a list of some of the topics covered at our 'Hands of Mercy' conferences:

'Ministry to the Poor' - This seminar brings insights into ‘who are the poor’ and specific ways of being relevant to the needs of the poor surrounding us. It also examines the reasons for poverty both on an individual level as well as communal.

‘The Depth of Sacrifice' - An examination of the proper mind set for all who desire to be used by God and to be 'His hands extended'.

'The Value of a Human Life' - An insightful teaching on how God values every living person made in his image. If we as a church will ever help 'the many' we must recapture the value of 'the one'. We must see people and interact with them the way Jesus did.

'The Acceptance of a Family' - 'I was a stranger and you invited me in.' This seminar explores the untapped potential local churches have to do provide an 'acceptance of a family' to hurting people. Local churches can provide a sense of family better than the government and para-church ministries ever could.

'Mercy is Messy!' - A walk down the Samaritan Road from Luke 10:30-37 and a deeper insight into Jesus’ command, ‘…go and do likewise.’

'Restoring the Deacon Ministry' - Are deacons only chosen to arrange the chairs for our Sunday services and to make sure that the flower arrangements are in order? This seminar takes a closer look at this Biblical ministry that will reveal a different picture of these 1st century ministers of mercy.

'What is True Religion?' - A closer look at James 1:27. An insight into the heart of God concerning the most vulnerable in our society - the orphan (foster child) and the widow. Has the modern church abandoned its Biblical mandate to the State to care for these precious ones? A look into the potential local churches have to bring hope, healing, and stability to damaged lives.

'The Providence of God' - A Biblical response to the suffering surrounding us. An examination into a proper Biblical theology of suffering. A look at how we answer such questions surrounding the amount of suffering in our world with the reality of a good and merciful God.

Ministry to the Addicted’ - In a society where addiction is rampant (drugs, alcohol, pornography, gambling, entertainment, shopping, etc.), what must the church know about addiction and its effects upon the millions, even within our congregations, in our society? This seminar offers a practical teaching design to prepare the church to assist in setting free anyone with a life controlling addiction.

‘Ministry to the Comatose’- This seminar is designed to assist the church with practical ways to minister to those with severe head injures and practical ways to minister to the victims and their families.
